Misinformation can spread rapidly nowadays through the internet and social media. A high number of scientifically unproven claims and misinformation on the subject of vaccination in particular are in circulation. Incorrect information on vaccinations can lead to uncertainty and questionable healthcare decisions. The Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, Federal Institute for Vaccines and Biomedicines, is deploying the #VaccineKnowledgeProtects campaign to debunk some myths about vaccines and vaccinations using fact postcards. This format features one fact about vaccinations and vaccines in the foreground that is supplemented with an explanation. The myth connected to each fact is deliberately not mentioned, so that the misinformation does not spread further and consolidate in the memory. The playful presentation is intended to provide easy access to the topic and to appeal in particular to people who have so far gained limited knowledge about vaccinations.
