This study was planned to retrospectively collect data on patients treated with chondrotransplant or
chondrosphere in order to evaluate aspects of efficacy and safety. The data collection had several
objectives which are summarized in the question of the patient’s benefit.

Efficacy variables: Assessed pre- and post-operative. Lysholm Gillquist Score, Tegner Lysholm
Score, HSS Score, DGKKT Score, Tegner Score, and Cincinnati Score.
Other variables: Anamnesis, size of cartilage defect, number of implanted spheroids, duration of
surgery.
Safety variables Classified as pre-operative (biopsy until implantation), intra-operative (during
implantation), peri-operative (during hospital stay), and post-operative time intervals. At each time
interval adverse events and medication were recorded.
